Niihime is a variety discovered in 1997 in Kumano, Mie Prefecture. Currently, this citrus is grown only in Kumano, Mie Prefecture, in Japan, and is so rare that it is not available in Japan. The fruit has a strong aroma and a sour taste similar to that of seekwasa or sudachi. By adding it to shichimi, an ancient Japanese spice, you can enjoy the fresh aroma and sour taste of the product along with the aroma of sansho.
