Oguraya Yamamoto is a long-established kelp shop in Osaka, founded in 1848 by Risuke Yamamoto, the first generation of the company.

We use only the finest natural Hakodate kelp, which is said to be the best domestic kelp available, and our ""roasted kelp"" method, which has been passed down from generation to generation by our craftsmen, is used to produce our high-quality tsukudani (kelp boiled in soy sauce). The company has also been a leader in the kelp industry, making efforts to cultivate kelp in Hokkaido, and publishing the patent for ""Ebisume,"" Japan's first salt-blown kelp. It is also well known as the setting for Toyoko Yamazaki's first novel, ""Noren"" (curtain).
Toyoko Yamazaki is the younger sister of Risuke Yamamoto III.

Description of Products for Trade Inquiry

Anyone can easily and conveniently utilize the flavor of kelp in cooking without the need to make soup stock. Shortly before the high economic growth period, Risuke III thought that Japan would spend less and less time preparing meals in the future, and this product was born out of his desire to support a diet that utilizes the flavor of kombu (kelp) under such circumstances. It is a hidden long-seller supported by a wide range of customers from ordinary households to some of the best high class restaurants in Osaka.
