Kishu Nanko Umeshu

Our Product(s)

Fully ripened Nankou plum
Kishu Nankou Umeshu is an alcoholic beverage that is easy to make at home in various households throughout Japan, but in Minabe Town, it is common to make it using fully ripened plums grown on trees. It was developed with the desire to share the deliciousness of this plum wine nationwide. Drinking Umeboshi (pickled plums) is a popular habit in Japan, but the leftover Umezu (plum vinegar) during the pickling process often has little use and is discarded. However, it contains a significant amount of Nankou Ume (plum variety) components and was developed into a drink that can be enjoyed by those who do not like Umeboshi. In Minabe Town, Ume extract was commonly made and kept in households. By adding honey and putting it into a soft capsule, it became a more approachable and easy-to-consume product.
