We are pleased to invite foreign families living in the Kanto region to join the “Disaster Prevention STEAM Camp: You Are the Hero of the Future Disaster prevention!”

This is a 2-day, 1-night parent-child program designed to help families develop the ability to support one another in times of emergency, particularly in Japan where there are many natural

disasters.

The camp offers a variety of enjoyable workshops and hands-on experiences incorporating

elements of STEAM (Science and Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics).

Multilingual support will be available to ensure families with a foreign background

can participate with peace of mind.

Why not join us and have fun learning about “bousai” (disaster prevention) together?

【Event Details】

This is an overnight disaster prevention camp event

• Event Title: Disaster Prevention STEAM Camp –

You Are the Hero of the Future Disaster prevention!

• Date: May 24 (Sat) 12:00 PM – May 25 (Sun) 12:30 PM, 2025
• Location: Asunaro-no-Sato, Joso City, Ibaraki Prefecture
• Eligible Participants: Elementary school students and their guardians living in Tochigi, Ibaraki, Gunma, Chiba, Tokyo, Saitama, Yamanashi, or Kanagawa (Total: 45 groups, on a first-come, first-served basis)

(This program is approved under the Cabinet Office’s Disaster Education Challenge Plan)

• Participation Fee: Free (Advance registration required)
• Meeting Place: On-site (Pick-up service available from select nearby stations)

Accommodation, dinner, and breakfast are also provided free of charge.
